HOPE

"Now faith is the 'substance' of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". Hebrews 11:1

The word substance is translated from the Greek word 'hypostasis', which means
1) that which has foundation, is firm
a) confidence, firm trust, assurance

Therefore:
"Now faith is the assurance of things 'hoped' for, the evidence of things not seen". Hebrews 11:1

The dictionary definition of hope is "a feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best"

The Bible defintion of hope, translated from the Greek root word 'elpis', means "anticipation, expectation, or confidence"".

Therefore:
"Now faith is the assurance of things expected; the 'evidence' of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

The word evidence is translated from the Greek word 'elegchos', which means
1) a proof, that by which a thing is proved or tested
2) conviction

Therefore:
"Now faith is the assurance of things expected; the proof of things 'not seen'." Hebrews 11:1

What is 'not seen' is that which is not seen with the natural eyes; but with our spiritual eyes.
We are able to see the world that we live in; and God can enable us to see what is in the sprit - the supernatural.
When we come to believe the Word of God we will see ourselves WITH what He has promised - with our natural eyes CLOSED.

Finally:
"Now faith is the assurance of things expected; the proof of their existence." Hebrews 11:1

When hope comes alive in us; where we can, in the spirit, see ourself with the answer, healing, deliverance,etc..., it is then just a matter of putting some substance, confidence, assurance in that hope, by saying "I believe it" - and it will manifest in this natural world.
